Durarara!!, adapted from a series of light novels, is one of the most popular anime series around the world. It is set in Ikebukuro, Tokyo’s second-busiest district for pedestrians. Although the show is a work of fiction, its locations are inspired by real-life locations in Japan. Ikebukuro
Ikebukuro, the show’s central location, is a commercial and entertainment district in Tokyo known primarily for its shopping, dining, and nightlife options. It is the second-busiest district in Tokyo for pedestrians, just behind Shibuya, and its railway stations are some of the busiest in the world. The show’s portrayal of Ikebukuro helped put the district on the map for anime fans globally.

Seibu Department Store
This department connects the Seibu platform in Ikebukuro Station. Seibu Department Store opened in 1949. It appears in Durarara!! OVA episode 12 and equally in the video game series.
Ikefukurou
Ikefukurou is a stone statue created in 1987. When the JR (Japan Railways) was launched in March of the same year, since there was no meeting point in Ikebukuro station so it serve for this purpose. Initially, the station staff tried to carve the owl with wood but failed.
They later contracted a masonry company in Tochigi prefecture to complete it. Just behind the state you will find a post on the history of the Ikebukuro area. The three owl statues next to the were donated by 5th-grade class-1 pupils of the nearby Ikebukuro Dai-san (No. 3) Elementary School.
Ikefukurou is a great tourist destination so if you happen to be in Toshima then you could pay a visit. The status appears in episode 12 of Durarara!! OVA when Anri and Mikado meet in the evening.

Sunshine 60 Street
This 200-meter shopping street links the Ikekuburo station to Sunshine. It begins at the east Ikebukuro exit not far from Seibu Store Department.
This entertaining street also houses the location of the Tokyo Hands store that appears in Durarara!!. Sunshine Street features in many scenes and it’s the first place of the Dollars meetup

Sunshine City
Sunshine City is a large shopping and entertainment complex in Ikebukuro, featuring a museum, aquarium, planetarium, a shopping center, Pokemon Center and an observatory. In Durarara!!, Sunshine city is where Mikado want to go upon arriving in Ikebukuro.

Otome Road
Otome Road is a shopping area in Ikebukuro known for its stores selling anime and manga goods catering to female fans, including cosplay shops and doujinshi (self-published manga) stores.
In Durarara!!, Otome Road is the location of several important scenes and is a popular location for tourists and anime fans visiting Ikebukuro. Some stores have vending machine featuring images of the van gang that sells Durarara!! character water bottles.

East Ikebukuro Central Park
Higashi Ikebukuro Chuo Koen is park fill with trees, stray cats, benches and a fountain located on Otome road near Sunshine city. This is one of the symbolic real life locations of Durarara!!, it is where Horada and Higa hang out watching Celty in episode 15 when they are confronted and beaten up by Shizuo

Toranoana
The Comic Toranoana is a chain store that sells manga, doujin and anime related items. The central store is in Akihabara where you will find some real life locations Steins;Gate.
There are two branches in Ikebukuro; Toranoana Ikebukuro #1 and Toranoana Ikebukuro #2. You can see Erika and Walker dancing outside the store in episode 8.

Ikebukuro Station
Ikebukuro Station is the second-busiest railway station in Tokyo and a significant location in Durarara!!. It appears in the first episode of the anime as well as the Durarara!! video game series It is where many of the show’s main characters depart and arrive throughout the series, especially the East Exit.
The East Exit is the point of origin for a lot of the show’s action.

Simon, the head of the Russian mafia group “The Dollars,” is often seen at Russian Sushi Aoki. The establishment is located in a quiet corner of a back alley in East Ikebukuro and serves as a popular location for Durarara!! fans visiting the city.
Yoyogi Park, Shibuya
Shibuya is one of the busiset commercial center in Tokyo. Yoyogi is one of the largest park in Tokyo and equally the place Celty visited in episode 4 while looking for the portrait painter. Clety can be seen walking in the park.

Shinjuku – Izaya’s apartment/office
Shinjuku is a commercial and administrative district of Tokyo and is known for its skyscrapers, shopping, dining, entertainment, and nightlife options.
It is the location of several public parks, and government buildings, the busiest railway station in the world in terms of passenger throughput, and the location of the famous red-light district, Kabukicho. In Durarara!!, Shinjuku serves as a central location for the Blue Squares gang.
Ikebukuro West Gate Park, Tokyo
Ikebukuro West Gate Park is a spacious public park located near the west entrance of Ikebukuro Station. In Durarara, it is the central place where characters meet and socialize, making it an essential location in the series.
